Being from Pittsburgh, I thought that this was a topic that was not only relevant to this class, but relevant to my life as well :)

Pittsburg State University has started hosting quarter-annual Pecha Kucha nights where all of its students are encouraged to tell their stories that can vary from international trips, research topics, how to use social media or a new art project. So far it has been an extreme success and would not be such a terrible idea to start up here at Virginia Tech ;)

This site goes through most of the aspects of urban planning. If you navigate through you can find examples of even some cities such as Boston and Philadelphia.

In high school I watched a Discovery Channel show on the building of Dubai. Now it is real, and the fastest growing city in the world. I think it shows urban planning at its best.
